As the longest-running student-organized business conference about Asia, the Asia Business Conference at the University of Michigan is the pioneer Asia business conference at a top US business school. This year’s 19th annual Asia Business Conference, “Asia: Globalization and Transformation” at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, will be held from February 6-7, 2009 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
For the last 18 years, the Asia Business Conference has brought leaders of Asia and multinational companies together in Ann Arbor to discuss, debate, and dialogue about shifting trends in the region. This year's 19th Annual Asia Business Conference will again provide students and local professionals with a unique glimpse into the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Asia. As the home to world's fastest growing economies, Asia represents an enormous opportunity for professionals - whether it is with domestic firms looking to expand into Asia, consultancies providing guidance on the region, or individuals looking to start new ventures to capitalize on its growth.
Cognizant of Asia's role as the driving force behind most of the expected global economic growth in the 21st century, and the growing influence of Asia in the global political arena, we have brought together business executives and high-ranking government officials to discuss different aspects of this phenomenal growth. Through panels discussions and interactive sessions, the ABC is an exceptional opportunity to interact with prominent business leaders and gather first-hand insights about business in Asia.
The 2009 Conference will feature more than 25 speakers from Asia and the United States and attract nearly 600 business leaders, students, faculty and others interested in learning more about Asia.  The program will include regional panels on China, India, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN, as well as functional panels on Finance, Energy, Environment, Technology, and Healthcare.
Past conferences have featured speakers from multinational corporations such as, Johnson & Johnson, Mitsubishi Motors, General Motors, Shell, Nike, Satyam, Northwest Airlines, Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, The Dow Chemical, Baxter Healthcare, and Pfizer.  Prominent government officials such as the ASEAN Secretary General, the Singapore Ambassador to the United Nations, the Finance Minister of India, Finance Minster of Thailand, and the United Nations Assistant Secretary General for Economic Development have given keynote addresses.

We sincerely hope that you will join us for the 19th Asia Business Conference and we look forward to your participation.
