However, there are questions related to India that experts in the academic and business world still struggle with: What are the most promising industries in India and which will enjoy the greatest future growth? What are the critical success parameters in building viable, sustainable businesses in India? How successful has India been in balancing rapid economic growth with environmental protection and growing income disparities? What are the challenges for Indian companies as they pursue their vision of becoming global leaders in their respective industries?

Mr. Narayanan is responsible for leading product strategy and management for growth in Emerging Markets and Small Business. Primarily focused on India and the Middle East, he was previously leading some of Yahoo!'s efforts in developing global advertising platforms, search, and a number of consumer products. Prior to joining Yahoo!, Mr. Narayanan served in many capacities at Microsoft, both in the US and India, including leading the Unlimited Potential Group in Microsoft India, bringing affordable & relevant technology driven solutions to underserved communities. He also has over 12 years of experience in the US auto industry working for Chrysler Corporation and Ford Motor Company, where in 1998, he received the prestigious Ford President's Customer Driven Quality Award.

Founded by Mr. Krishna, ARGA Investment Management is an independent investment management firm focused on global equities. He was previously President, International of Pzena Investment Management Inc. and Managing Principal, Member of Executive Committee, and Portfolio Manager of its operating company in New York, where he led the development of the firm's International Value and Global Value strategies while managing the US Large Cap Value strategy. Prior to joining Pzena in 2003, Mr. Krishna was at Citigroup Asset Management, where he was Chief Investment Officer. He also has experience working with Alliance Capital and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, Tokyo, and Singapore.

Managing Partner & Founder, Sumpura Management Consulting

Sanjeev Maddila specializes in developing strategies for process, systems and metrics for their manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, and service & parts operations. Prior to SUMPURA, he was a partner in Deloitte Consulting's Supply Chain practice and led the planning and optimization group. Before that Sanjeev was an associate partner at Accenture (prev. Andersen Consulting) where he spent more than 10 years in supply chain consulting and taught computer science at Northwestern University. He received his BTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, MS from the Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Sanjeev is actively involved with the IIT alumni group and has founded the India Development Institute, an India-focused think tank. He served on the board of CityYear, a not-for-profit focused on K-12 literacy in Chicago Public Schools. He and his wife have lived in Chicago with their 2 kids since 1989.

Dr. Ahuja has received numerous teaching awards including Best Professor in the MBA program in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001 at The University of Texas-Austin and in 2003 and 2004 at Michigan. In addition, he has received the Best Professor award in the PhD program in 2004 at Michigan. Dr. Ahuja has also been recognized in Business Week's annual guide to the top Business schools. His research on innovation and technology strategy has received several international awards including the Free Press Award for outstanding research in Strategy, the Sade-Pongy and West Publishing Awards for Organization Theory, and the Best Dissertation Award from The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
